[Apshpe] AFE Letter to Parents

Please read the following letter from the Andover Fund for Education.

 

"AFE was among the first organizations in this community to recognize
the need for additional support for our schools, and I have consistently
supported their work. I applaud AFE's dedication to instructional
leadership, sound ideas and creativity. AFE set the bar high for all
other organizations that have evolved and are working on behalf of our

The Andover Fund for Education (AFE) provides grants to Andover teachers
for innovative projects that enrich the curriculum and inspire students
and staff. Not a substitute or an alternative source of funding for the
school budget, AFE funds provide teachers with the resources to
implement new and creative projects in their classrooms and have an
immediate impact on their students. 

Recent grants at Elementary Schools have allowed students to develop
storytelling and retelling skills, start scrapbooks to keep from second
through fifth grade to serve as a continuous review, get an introduction
to foreign languages from high school foreign language students and
develop problem solving strategies with school-wide "question of the
week" and "question of the month" for each grade

As the end of the year and the holidays approach, won't you consider
making a tax deductible donation to AFE? You may make your donation in
the name of your child's teacher(s). AFE will inform the teacher
(without specifying the amount) that you have made a donation in his or
her name.
