FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE

 

Winter Recess

School will close this Friday at 2:45 P.M. and reopens on Wednesday,
January 2, 2008.  On behalf of the entire Sanborn Faculty and Staff,
best wishes to all of you and your families for a wonderful holiday
season.

 

Volunteers Needed

We are in need of five to ten volunteers for this Friday morning,
December 21 from 8:15 - 8:40 A.M.   Help is needed in supervising the
children before school so that all staff can attend a holiday breakfast.
If you can help out, please contact Lisa Starkweather at
rlmcj at comcast.net.  Thank you!

 

Traffic Reminders

Those of you who drive your children to school in the morning have
likely noticed that, at times, the traffic is backing up onto Lovejoy
Road.  Please remember that the front circle is for live drop off only.
There is no parking allowed.   For safety reasons, children should exit
cars on the right side only.  If you need to accompany your child into
the building, kindly park in the parking lot.  Also, if you are picking
up in the afternoon, unless you are coming in to the office to dismiss
your child, please get in the carpool line.

 

Explorations ~ Winter Session 

We will be offering new courses in our Winter Session of Explorations,
which will begin the week of January 14.  Two of the Explorations
courses that began in the fall, Volleyball and Math Olympiad, will run
throughout the course of the school year.  Those participating in Math
Olympiad have registered for the year.  Those interested in continuing
with KidSpike (Volleyball) should re-register for the Winter Session.
We are actively seeking your suggestions and ideas for new course
offerings for this winter session.  Parent instructors are welcome!
Please consider sharing your hobbies and skills with the Sanborn
Community.  Schedules are flexible ~ if you are interested, we will make
it happen!  Please call the school at 978-623-8860 or contact Mrs.
Crowley by email at scrowley at aps1.net prior to winter break.  Offerings
will come home with the children when we return from vacation.

 

Student Council Updates

The Sanborn Student Council in collaboration with Anton's Cleaners is
sponsoring "Coats for KIDS".  Donations may be brought to the Sanborn
School foyer anytime through January 15.   We have collected over 100
coats so far!

 

The School Store is closed this week and will reopen on January 14,
2008.

 

Sanborn School collected over 500 toys for the children affiliated with
Lazarus House in Lawrence.  Thank you to everyone who sent in a toy.

 

The new Student Council Committees will be forming on Wednesday, January
9th.  All Student Council members will meet that day during lunchtime to
establish the new committees for second term.

 

Dates to Remember

 

Friday, December 21 - Holiday recess begins; 2:45 P.M. dismissal

 

Wednesday, January 2 - School reopens.
