FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE

Early Release Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 30 is an early release day for Staff
Development. The children will be dismissed before lunch at 11:45 A.M.
Due to the Early Release Day, the following Explorations courses will
not be held tomorrow: Cheering, Habitats, and Lacrosse. Each of these
courses will be extended by one week.

Emergency Drill Practice

On a regular basis, as a school community, we practice safe evacuation
of the building by having fire drills. It is important, also, that we
practice with the children our response to other emergency situations.
This Thursday afternoon, May 1, we will conduct a "lockdown" practice.
This will simulate the procedures that we would follow if there was an
intruder in the building, a major disturbance, or a crisis involving
weapons. While we do not want the children to panic, we do want
everyone to be prepared in the event of a true emergency. The teachers
will share with the children, in advance, that we will be conducting
this emergency drill practice on Thursday.

First Sanborn Mini-Marathon a Success!

The Sanborn Mini-Marathon was a huge success! We had 15 teams of
students, families and teachers who participated and we raised over $900
for Dana Farber Cancer Research. The Andover High Freshmen Softball
Team was there to cheer on the teams and the PTO provided the water.
Thank you very much for all the support from everyone who helped or
participated. Once again the Sanborn Community proved our theme---- Be
Somebody Who Cares!!!

Science Kits to be Refurbished

Our senior volunteer, Mrs. Evelyn Retelle, is going to be refurbishing
our take home Science Kits from the library. Therefore, we are taking
them offline until next year. Please check to see if you have a kit at
home and return it to the library ASAP.

Lost and Found

Items from the Lost and Found will be on display in the main corridor
starting next Wednesday, May 7. All items not claimed will be donated to
charity at noon on Friday, May 9.
