WEST ELEMENTARY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

FALL 2006

 

*	Let's Speak Italian- Come learn to speak some Italian and learn
about the culture of Italy with Mrs. Manty.  This class will meet on
Wednesday mornings from 8:00 -8:40 am starting November 16 for 8 weeks
(ending January 11).  Class is appropriate for grades 3-5, class limit-
10 students.  Cost $8.00.

 

*	Student Newspaper - Students will create their own West
Elementary Student newspaper.  This class will meet Friday mornings from
8:00 - 8:40 a.m., beginning Friday, Friday, November 3  - December 17th.
Together, we will create a school newspaper filled with interviews,
articles, book reviews, comics, photos, poetry  - all created by West El
students.   Class is appropriate for grades 4-5, class limit is 15.
Cost is $10.00.  Taught by Mona Igram and April Pattavina.  

 

*	Knitting/Crochet  (Should we put this in or does it have a
separate flyer?)

            This is for grades 3-5 and starts Oct. 26th 8am in the
library

            Parents are welcome-please bring own supplies.(needles and
yarn) #8  

            knitting needles are recommended for beginners and the F/5
crochet hook.

            $5 member fee

            Any volunteers are welcome!!!

The classes above are offered by our Enrichment Program during November
and December.  Additional classes will be offered in January and the
Spring.  It is not too late to sign up to teach an enrichment class.

To sign up for a class, please fill out the registration form below and
return to the office by Monday October 30.  Forms will be processed on a
"first come, first served" basis.  You will receive notification
regarding the class in which your child has been placed.  In order to
offer these classes, we need parent volunteers who would be willing to
assist the teacher for at least one of the classes (younger siblings are
welcome!).
