Mrs. MacRae, grade 5 instructional assistant, just came back from two
days at outdoor education! Here is her update! She said the weather has
been spectacular and she had fun watching the children:

*	Participate in a science fair
*	Dissect frogs
*	Make Cheese
*	Goon Nature Hikes
*	Play Ultimate Frisbee
*	Build a Geodome
*	Eat Healthy meals (setting and clearing tables)
*	Enjoy nightly quiet sing a longs
*	Go to bed exhausted

The children and teachers climbed Mount Monadnock!!

"Besides being the most popular mountain in America, Grand Monadnock is
known as the most climbed mountain in the world. Monadnock has long been
described as the second-most-climbed mountain in the world (after Mt.
Fuji in Japan). Since 1990, it has been suggested that so many of Fuji's
climbers have shifted to newly available public transportation for that
ascent, that Monadnock's annual total of foot traffic now exceeds
Fuji's. Now in southwestern New Hampshire, 125,000 people every year
hike to the top of Monadnock."

 They made it to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the glorious
sunshine and the 360 degree panoramic view. They saw the Boston skyline
and the beautiful fall foliage.

Mr. Friel is at Outdoor Education for two days and I am sure he will
have more to report!

We miss them in the halls of West. It is very quiet here.
