A critical piece of keeping our schools and community strong is the role of the state in terms of dollars delivered and legislative reforms that are much needed and long overdue. In Andover more Chapter 70 Aid is needed. Our legislators and Governor Patrick need to hear from us. Attending Wednesday's Stand For Children Rally is a first step.  

The rally is on Wed. 4/25 12:30-1:30 pm on the Boston Common near the Park Street T stop.  A bus is going from Andover to the Rally.

	Stand together to demand that state lawmakers make our school children a top priority in 2007!

	Numbers count - Lawmakers need to see and hear your demand that they take action to solve the financial crisis in education. 

	Thanks to several years of budget cuts, Massachusetts' school funding is in a state of crisis. The Legislature's proposed allocation of $220 million in public school funding (Chapter 70 aid) falls far short of solving the financial crisis in education, and leaves us nearly $250 million below 2002 levels of funding, adjusted for inflation. Communities across the state are still facing the prospect of teacher lay-offs, increased class sizes, and shrinking academic programs. 

	Our kids only grow up once - we have to take action now, and the only way to break through the noise of competing interests on Beacon Hill is to mobilize. That's why Stand for Children is planning a School Funding Rally on Wednesday, April 25th on Boston Common to push for relief and reform. 

	If you agree that a good education for our kids really is the key to Massachusetts' future, the single most important step you can take is to join with Stand for Children at our April 25th Rally. The truth is, numbers count. Lawmakers need to see and hear your demand that they take action to solve the financial crisis in education. 

	We are asking leaders on Beacon Hill to commit to:
		*	Deliver immediate financial relief to all school districts.
		*	Initiate funding reforms to ensure that all children have the opportunity to succeed.
