Recruiting parents for the West Elementary Junior Achievement (JA)
Program.
We need parent volunteers for the following classes:  

Gleason
Russo
Gleason PM
Chapin
Price
Coltin
Cullen
Dufton 
Powers
DiSalvo
Keleher
Ryan
Sands
Mohammed
Harkins
Plamondon
Saum

Spend 30 - 40 minutes in a child's class for 5 weeks. Determine a
schedule
with the teacher that works for you after January 2007. Training is
provided
if this is your first time! We want each class to have the opportunity
to
experience JA!

JA programs are provided at no cost to schools and are presented by a
volunteer role model.  Each volunteer receives a kit packed with
detailed
lesson plans, exciting visual aids and engaging activities. Lesson
themes
are:

.  Ourselves (Kindergarten)-Introduces the economic roles of individuals
.  Our Families (1st Grade)-Discusses the role of families in the local
economy
.  Our Community (2nd Grade)-Examines responsibilities and economic
opportunities available within a community
.  Our City (3rd Grade)-Considers economic development, local
businesses,
and career opportunities
.  Our Region (4th Grade)-Features the economic/business resources found
in
state and regional economies
.  Our Nation (5th Grade)-Studies U.S. business operations and economic
issues
