[Apswel] Message from Dr. Bach- Snow Decisions

Dear Parents and Staff,

 

Today has been particularly difficult weather-wise.  Because of our
delayed opening and our early dismissal, I know you have experienced
some major disruptions in your schedule, and for that I apologize.  Our
early morning weather reports indicated that the snow accumulation was
going to be light today, and so our highway department staff felt they
could keep ahead of the snow storm.  A delayed opening seemed like a
good choice, because it people had more time to get to school.  Then
later reports indicated we were going to have more snow than at first
expected, and our highway department reported they were not certain they
could keep up with that additional accumulation.  So, at about 10:30,
not long after the students arrived, I made the decision to send
students and staff home early.  

 

These have been very difficult calls.  I very much appreciate your
patience over the last week.  Let's hope once winter officially arrives,
we will see better weather.  Then again, this could be one of those
long, difficult winters.  Happy holidays to you all.
