SUPPORTING THE CHILD WITH NON-VERBAL LEARNING DISORDER (NVLD) AND WEAK
EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING

The child with NVLD has strengths in verbally based skills and
weaknesses in visual-spatial, motor and social skills. One of the key
issues for children with NVLD is weak executive functioning. As parents
and adults work to better support and understand the child with NVLD,
Dr. Helmus will provide explicit techniques and compensatory strategies
to address both the disorder and the associated weak executive function
skills.
