PTO HELP WANTED

2007-2008 SCHOOL YEAR

 

Hospitality Coordinator:  This is your opportunity to make sure guests
of West El special events don't leave hungry!  A coordinator is needed
to organize volunteers to donate food and work the day of special events
such as Read Around America Day, Shawsheen Move Over Day and
Kindergarten Sneak Peek.  

 

5th Grade Yearbook Coordinator - Do you like to take pictures or work
with photographs and computers?  We need 3 or 4 parents to take on the
5th Grade Yearbook.  Volunteers may work independently or in concert.
Duties include developing and maintaining the production schedule;
photographing different school events as well as student and staff
candid shots; assisting students with yearbook biographies; and scanning
photos and biographies for yearbook layout.  Our 2006-2007 yearbook
staff will be available for guidance and information throughout the
year.

 

Enrichment Coordinator:   The enrichment coordinator advertises for
parents to teach programs, coordinates payment, coordinates classes and
scheduling and acts as the liaison between enrichment teachers, parents
and the school.  Most classes are held before school.

 

Spring 2008 Fundraiser:  TBD (possibly an auction/wine tasting)
Chairpeople are needed preferably before the end of this school year to
begin initial planning.

 

Fundraising Co-Chair:  A second Fundraising Co-Chair is needed to
oversee all fundraising activities for the year.  Responsibility also
includes ensuring budget expectations are met.  This PTO Advisory
Position reports to the PTO at Advisory Board Meetings.  

 

Wrapping Paper Co-Chair:   A second volunteer is needed to oversee the
wrapping paper fundraiser.   Responsibilities include distribution of
product catalogs to students, collection of all sales, organization of
orders to be sent to the wrapping paper company and contacting
volunteers for distribution of the wrapping paper.  This fundraiser
generally runs in October and November.

 

Kids Creation Art Cards Co-Chair:   A second individual is needed to
help organize this popular new fundraiser.  You will need to coordinate
this fundraiser with the West El art teacher.  This fundraiser is
scheduled to begin in February.

 

Dish Night/Restaurant Night Coordinator:   A volunteer (or two) is
needed to organize this fundraiser in March and May. Responsibilities
include scheduling a date with the local restaurant or DiSH and
publicizing the event to the West El community. For one night in March
and again in May, West El families and friends can eat out at the
selected restaurant or order from DiSH and a portion of all checks will
be donated to our school.
