Outside the Lines:  Empowering and 

Embracing Students with ADHD and 

Learning Disabilities 

When his teachers decided Jonathan Mooney needed special 

education because he couldn't follow directions, sit still or 

read well, he feared he'd lost his chance to be a regular kid. 

Like other children facing the similar challenges of ADHD 

and dyslexia, Jonathan was denigrated daily and his self-

esteem plummeted. Join us as Jonathan shares the story of his 

educational journey that ultimately led him to graduate with 

honors from Brown University. Learn practical solutions and 

strategies that will empower parents, students and educators 

to work together towards understanding labels. Students as 

well as parents are encouraged to attend this powerful 

presentation.
