Cultural Enrichment Committee

 

            This committee previews, selects and schedules approximately
20 programs per year for the students. These programs range from
creative arts and music, math, science and history. The programs chosen
are often based along curriculum guidelines and are scheduled upon
approval from the teachers. Members of this committee make necessary
arrangements with the school and staff, greet the performers and help
them set-up on the day of the performance. A brief write-up of the
program is send through list-serv including the performer's web link to
the parents. In addition the program is written up in the monthly
Westline publication.

            In addition, a member of this committee also represents West
Elementary school at the Andover All School Cultural Committee. This
committee brings one or two cultural programs per year to every
elementary school in Andover. Members of the Andover All School Cultural
Committee are invited to attend showcases and meetings hosted by the
West Suburban Cultural Arts Council to learn about new programs and
share information with other members from other school districts in
Massachusetts.
